The Florida State
University is an internationally recognized institution committed to preparing
our graduates for the ever-expanding opportunities of a global society.
Designated as a Carnegie Research University (designating very high research
activity), Florida State awards over 2,000 graduate and professional degrees
each year, and is recognized as a national leader in the number of doctorates
awarded to African-American students and in the graduation rate of African-American
undergraduates. Florida State’s online graduate programs in education, criminal
justice, information technology and business earned national recognition for
providing veterans with high-quality, flexible online education options. Office
of Distance Learning is proud to serve veterans as well as our active duty
military personnel who wish to pursue Florida State University degrees at a
distance. In fact, more than half of the veterans currently enrolled at Florida
State University have chosen to take advantage of online study. These rankings
reflect the continuing dedication of the university in providing whatever
resources are needed to serve our active duty military and student-veterans.
The College of Education’s online graduate program ranks No. 2 in the nation
for veterans. The program currently offers degrees in educational
leadership/administration, instructional systems and learning technologies and
special education studies. The College of Education is committed to student
service, especially to those who have served our country dean of the College of
Education. As an early pioneer in online education at Florida State University,
we are excited to see our achievements earn this recognition, and we are
continuing to develop innovative programs that provide a quality education to
students and veterans both on and off campus. The program provides the
challenge and prestige of Florida State University’s nationally ranked
criminology program with the convenience and flexibility of a distance-learning
program.

The School of
Information’s online master’s degree program in information technology under
this university, housed in the College of Communication and Information, is No.
18 in the computer information technology category. The program, which started
three years ago, is completely online and prepares students for 21st century
careers such as networking, large-scale data management, user-centered design
and web development. The College of Business’ online graduate programs ranked
No. 22 in university list. To be ranked, programs also had to be among the top
75 percent of schools in the overall 2015 Best Online Programs rankings, which
were released earlier this year. Those programs were assessed for various
factors, including afford-ability, faculty credentials, student services and
reputation. International freshman applicants attend a variety of different
educational systems. For those educated in the United States, or attending a
school that follows an educational curriculum patterned after the U.S.
University education system, they should create the Self-reported Student
Academic Record (SSAR).
For the University
enrollment official test results are required from a nationally standardized
graduate admission test, such as the Graduate Record Examination revised
General Test (GRE), the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), the Miller
Analogies Test (MAT), or an equivalent test that is acceptable for the program
to which the applicant is applying. The Educational Testing Service (ETS),
Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), and the Psychological
Corporation do not retain scores longer than five years.
